Phil and Lesley Hubert have spearheaded a fund raising campaign, Then Just Feed One, to raise funds to buy , package and ship meals to malnourished children and families in Honduras. On Saturday, January 28th, from 10:00 until noon, everyone is invited to come to work together with our students, families and friends at the Whiting High School Gym to package dry meals that will be sent to malnutrition centers and homes in Honduras. The cost of $30.00 per participant, pays for the food supplies, packaging and shipping. Please consider being part of this opportunity. Most of the money has already been raised, so please, just come to help us package the food for this very worthy cause. Confirmation students: This is a good opportunity to get service hours. Thank you!
Just a reminder to all parents and guardians on our policy for canceling Religious Education/ Faith Formation Classes. If school has been cancelled or has had an early dismissal because of weather, classes are automatically cancelled. If we decide to cancel classes, we try to do it early enough to get the announcements made at school. Sometimes the weather turns quickly and that is not always possible. Please, as parents and guardians, the final decision is up to you. If you feel that the weather is too cold, icy, snowy, windy, etc. and you are not comfortable with your children coming, DO NOT SEND THEM. Just call the office or their teacher and let us know. The safety of your family always comes first. Also, call the office/ teacher prior to getting on the road if you have any question that classes may not be held. We try our best to notify everyone, but sometimes someone is missed. Thank you for your help and cooperation this winter. Stay Safe!
May the Light of Christmas shine on you, May you find Joy in your heart, May you find peace in your soul, May you find love in your life, And may all the happiness and cheer that Christmas brings, Bring heaven's peace to you and yours. Merry Christmas
