Helen M. Framke, 86, of Whiting, Iowa formerly of Blencoe, Iowa passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.
Funeral mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Blencoe, Iowa with Father Mark Stoll, Celebrant, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Blencoe, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa with a scriptural prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.
Helen Marie was born on June 17, 1929 in Greenwood, Nebraska, the third child of Joseph and Emma (Divis) Stanislav. She graduated from Blencoe High School in 1946.
Helen and Leo Framke were united in marriage on September 4, 1948. Helen and Leo lived in Omaha for a short while and then returned to Blencoe to farm from 1963 – 1989. She and Leo owned and operated Framke Tax Service in Blencoe. She and Leo enjoyed their antique dealership, traveling the area, and displaying at antique shows. Leo preceded her in death on February 6, 1992.
Helen moved to Onawa in 2006. She enjoyed playing Pinnacle. She also enjoyed volunteering at Burgess Health Center in their gift shop and Act II. She was an avid Nascar fan and Jeff Gordon was her driver.
She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Blencoe, IA and their Rosary Society.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Connie (Bert) Collison of Weaver, AL; two sons, Larry (Kate)Framke of Onawa, IA and Charles (Terry) Framke of Onawa, IA; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry Stanislav of Spencer, IA; brother-in-law, Dave Aronson of Des Moines, IA; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emma Stanislav; husband, Leo Framke; granddaughters, Melissa Framke and Mary Elizabeth Collison; grandson, Matthew Collison; one brother, Ernest Stanislav & wife, Evelyn; two sisters, Rosemary Aronson and Adeline & husband Warren Uhl.
